  1. Really 3.5 starsThis short story is based on some of the legends that are told about Blackbeard and his days around Beaufort, NC The White House in this story is Hammock House in Beaufort It is a good little story, my only nitpick is some of the dialog sounded very 20th century as opposed to early 1700 s Some of the cannon from Blackbeard s Queen Anne s Revenge are being raised from the wreck right now wwaytv3 2013 08 20 mor

  2. This short story really drew me in quickly I was capitivated by the characters, especially Annie and Lizzy Though it was a rainy, wet, slushy day outside my window, I felt like I really was in Beaufort watching the story unfold Pirates are never my favorite characters OK except for Johnny Depp. The tragic ending for Annie made my stomach lurch I found myself hoping that Lizzy escapes to a better life far from her father and the wretched past that was her s in the White House Great read, Meredith
