  1. I was so excited when I got this book I read it until it was like, 11 something PM And wow, this book has a lot of things changing around The key characters for the clans are popping up everywhere, but I thought that River Ripple s appearance was just kind of random and it didn t go too smoothly with that Anyway, an awesome book I wonder what happens to Thunder and Frost They ll probably get rejected by the cats on the moor Things are getting to the point of war I really hope the next book will [...]

  2. The first time I read a Warriors book I was 9 year old, and these books made me fall in love with reading. Now at 15 I continue to read these books despite them obviously being geared towards children the same age as I was when I began my Warriors journey This summer, before reading the Sun Trail, I re read the entire main series and still found myself able to enjoy the wonderful world Erin Hunter has created.Unfortunately, I seem to have set my expectation too high for this latest book The probl [...]

  3. Huh, pretty good but felt a touch like a filler Nice to have Thunder s point of view for a couple of chapters, and I have a lot of sympathy for Gray Wing I can see all the cats coming together with the Clan names Thunder, Shadow, River, Wind , but I m not sure who is going to end up where I was and still am convinced that Gray Wing is a Windclan cat at heart, but he s in the Shadow camp Then there s Clear Sky, who s a bit of a power hungry dick, but is still differentiable from, say, Hawkfrost o [...]

  4. An excellent addition to the Warriors series I was a bit hesitant to read this after the first Dawn of the Clans book The Sun Trail was maybe a three star read for me But Thunder Rising was infinitely better Firstly, there s action In the first book, it s just a lot of journeying and survival and stuff Which isn t bad, but not always interesting This had a lot action going on and is therefore interesting and therefore better Clear Sky has got to be the best or is it worst, because he s so cre [...]

  5. I really tried My son loves this series, but I just couldn t get interested enough to finish than the first Kids who want a series with lots of adventure, and who don t care about having many, many characters with difficult names to remember, will most likely love this series.

  6. Wow, this was painfulI know these are the mountain cats, pioneering a new way of life in a new territory, but, come on, does everything truly terrible have to happen all at once

  7. Thunder Rising was a good sequel to The Sun Trail I enjoyed it rather well, and I like the how the authors are playing the rising tension I m curious to see how they are going to divide into five clans though COUPLE TINY SPOILERSHere s what I didn t like I don t really like Grey Wing as a narrator, he is to placid and a little boring He is a rather dull character because he never really has an conflict and all he wants is peace I tend to like the conflicted characters, because they are really i [...]

  8. Okay, so I ve been a fan of the Warriors series since the very beginning I have read every book good and bad religiously and still consider it one of my all time favorite book series out there And while the fourth series was somewhat of a disappointment, this book proved that the Erins are still full of ideas and full of splendor.Admittedly, I was a little wary about reading this one, as I was not much of a fan of Sun Trail until near the end But this book surpasses Sun Trail in every way.The ch [...]

  9. Love the series Was glad to see the new developments and the new characters that are present in this book I especially love River Ripple and the little bonus scene included at the end of how he got his name With the addition of this book to the series that shows the beginning of the clans, it is clearer to me how the clans got started and which cats exactly take charge of each clan The only thing that frustrates me is the waiting for something major to happen Sure, lots of major plot points occu [...]

  10. In the second book in the fifth series of New York Times best selling world of Warriors, tension is rising between the two groups of the forest Gray Wing is starting to doubt his decision to come to the mountains As his group tries to push him on as their leader, he wonders if he will be able to settle down and live the peaceful life he s always wanted while looking out for the injured Jagged Peak and the young Thunder on top of leading a group of cats Meanwhile, Thunder is torn between the need [...]

  11. Thunder Rising, book two of the Warriors series, Dawn Of The Clans, is a book that you will just not be able to put down Although the cats made it safely to their new home, tensions between the group of cats who decide to life on the forest, and the group of who cats decided to live on the moor have been rising The main character, Gray Wing, and his brother, Clear Sky have had the tensions rising between them ever since his brother decided to go live in the forest, and has been expanding his ter [...]

  12. Much better than the first in this new series I may not like Gray Wing that much, but I guess I can say that he is developing However he contradicts himself a LOT He complains that his clanmates want him to replace Tall Shadow, but then when he is one and he feels like OH NOs some cat totally showed me up, he gets all hissy ANNOYING, Gray Wing, that is just ANNOYING And how the heck did that thing with Turtle Tail and him happen It was like BAM However I LOOOOOOOVED the few chapters we got with [...]

  13. Thoughts I really think Gray Wing is gonna die soon Clear Sky a total ass, but the author keeps giving hints that he still has some feeling underneath his cold exterior Total bs to that Even the baddest cats in the main Warriors series weren t total asses like Clear Sky God he annoys me Thunder Kind of sad when he left Gray Wing, but it s all good now Kill your dad one day young un Wind and Gorse now Wind Runner and Gorse Fur They re pretty cool But with Wind there it confuses the whole leader s [...]

  14. Book theme song Hey Brother by AviciiIn which Clear Sky becomes borderline irredeemable.Clear Sky scares me because I know people like him People who prioritize what they see as the survival of the group to the exclusion of minority rights These are the type of people who move to another lunch table when the autistic kid goes to sit with them Ostracizing and excluding the disabled is so often seen as a nonissue It s not a nonissue for the people on the receiving end of it This is why I love the [...]

  15. I felt like I was reading Thunder Rising to get to The First Battle In this book, not a lot happened Yes, Turtle Tail returned to the moor, and Thunder had a taste of Clear Sky s camp, and Graywing became the leader I don t think what I just wrote deserved a whole book I hope that The First Battle is better.

  16. This rating is from our 8 year old boy He has gotten hooked on the Warriors books and rates this one 4 1 2 stars This is not classic literature, but it is what our son is interested in right now He devours these books and gets upset when we don t leave him enough time to read for hours during the day.

  17. I enjoyed this book almost as well as I am able, as far as my enjoyment goes for this series Of course, since these prequels are a later series, I already know the ultimate result and sometimes I just wish it would be reached, but oh well The past must play its part.

  18. While I don t think this will be the best in the series, it does have its potential with the introducing of new characters and plot development It s hard for me to give stars as I ve never known what those stars would particularly mean, but I do think this book deserves a well rounded 3 the last one for River Ripple s POV.Character has always been one of the best attributes in this series Every cat has their own defined, but different, personality which is really refreshing compared to some othe [...]

  19. In this installment of the Warriors Dawn of the Clans series, Gray wing is forced into the leadership spot by popular vote, and his nephew, Thunder, was rejected care by Gray Wings brother, or his father There is a forest fire, and Clear sky, the father of Thunder suddenly cares about him and takes him away I have always loved the warriors series, due to the immense action scenes and the vivid death scenes that come after they get you attached to a character If you like the same things, you will [...]

  20. Erin Hunter s Thunder Rising is the second book of it s kind in the series, Dawn of the Clans A group of cats who have travelled far from the mountains and settled on the moor has been split into two Tensions between the groups have been building as rogues join their ranks and the territory is divided A young cat named Thunder is troubled by the conflict, having grown up on one side after being cast out by the other In this book, his blood ties draw him back to his father and the forest cats, bu [...]

  21. This book was thoroughly enjoyable in multiple ways, but it did indeed have a few flaws The book tells a story of two groups of cats who have just moved in to a new area, where other cats already preside This, for one thing, causes many issues among the cats, as well as natural events that occur due to the Twolegs Humans living nearby One of the best things this book did was the incorporation of multiple points of view This really gave you the ability to see both sides of the argument even from [...]

  22. THE GOOD Gray Wing Yup still love Gray Wing, his personality, how he doesn t even want to lead but was willing to step up because that s what others wanted of him Don t love him with Turtle Tail, but I do love his interactions with her three kits, who are no where near as annoying as she is, thankfully.Thunder I went a bit back and forth on Thunder, but I think that was because of his attitude towards Gray Wing it was bad, but I understood that he felt smothered and all He really shined once he [...]

  23. This is the second book in the Dawn of the Clans series. The cats from the mountain have found their spots Some went to live in the forest under Clear Sky and some are on the moor There is trouble between Clear Sky and Gray Wing Clear Sky s mate has died and out of her three kits, one is alive He doesn t want it so Gray Wing raises it Now that Thunder is grown, Clear Sky wants him back, after all Thunder is his son, and Thunder likes being with his father But he comes to know what his father real [...]

  24. If you liked the first book in the series then I definitely recommend this book The book surprises you with human like traits and situations even though the characters are cats There are some struggles in the book, particularly when they are struggling with leadership and hunting territory that really connect you with normal life and situations that we commonly face The author did a great job bringing these cats to life through writing If you are an imaginative person, or you happen to just love [...]

  25. Quick Thoughts Overall a good follow up to The Sun Trail Thunder is a likable character, if not somewhat unoriginal While pacing issues were not as bad in this book the series still seems to be meandering around any central conflict hopefully this will be resolved in the next book, The First Battle.

  26. Pretty good Not sure I like where things are going with Tom, and Clear Sky is a major ass, but I love Thunder and River Ripple Would love to see about Thunder and Lightning Tail, hopefully there will be in the remaining 4 books.

  27. Have to admit, some of these characters are really getting on my nerves Plot remains steadfastly within the Warriors world, though.
