  1. I finished reading this book some time ago and was waiting until I had decided how I felt about it I still haven t decided The plot itself is quite original an Israeli Jew and a strict Muslim from the Emirates both in love with a middle man as it were a 35 year old drug taking party animal white male with no religious beliefs one way or the other I found the world that David, the protagonist inhabits quite alien to me and not very pleasant at that East end of London Housing Association flat in n [...]

  2. David is is his mid thirties, gay, a teacher at an East London primary school, and possessing a healthy disregard for political correctness He works hard and plays hard, enjoying drug fueled weekends clubbing on the gay scene in London s Vauxhall a drug habit that is in danger of spiraling out of control He has been searching for The One, that special person with whom he can settle down, and thinks he has finally found him in Ahmed from the Emirates, he is in love with Ahmed, but Ahmed, despite [...]

  3. This very melodramatic tale of an air headed clubbing queen and his conflicting boyfriends is a delight to read I found the dialogue between the characters a bit stilted and clich d, but maybe that s how they do speak in real life as if they re going for fame inducing sound bites.

  4. As a love story it was somewhat unrealistic As social commentary it had moments of brilliance but was a bit anemic I mostly bought it for the cover and the title.
